WINONA, Minnesota (12 December 2003) – Miller Felpax Corporation
announced today an exclusive agreement with CMBA Indústria Mechânica
Ltda to distribute the Brazilian manufacturer’s traction motor support
bearings in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The
agreement gives Miller Felpax, a leading manufacturer of locomotive and
railcar rolling stock parts, the capability to supply North American
customers with high quality traction motor support bearings. Most
bearings now in use in North America were designed and originally
patented by Miller Felpax
CMBA, based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,
has produced high quality traction motor support bearings since 1958.
In 1966, CMBA won a license from ABEX Corporation for its bearing
technology. Since then, CMBA has grown into South America’s premier
supplier of support bearings and has developed world-class
manufacturing, research and quality control capabilities.
Steven
Blue, President and CEO of Miller Felpax commented on the agreement,
“This partnership benefits our customers since it will substantially
reduce costs of their bearings purchases, and it will provide an
alternative to current suppliers. Miller Felpax can also provide more
complete combo kits, including traction motor support bearings, wick
lubricators, seal rings, and gear case seals.”
“CMBA is a
world-class company that has produced the same bearing as Magnus Farley
for over 40 years. Their manufacturing processes, quality control,
facilities and experience are second to none,” continued Blue.
Roberto
Rocha, President and CEO of CMBA, said, “We are pleased with our
partnership with a leader in the industry, Miller Felpax. Our traction
motor support bearings are the leaders in South America, and we look
forward to bringing the same high quality parts to the North American
market.”

parts for over 50 years in 100 countries throughout the world, and
holds more than 240 patents.
